Hello,  I'm looking for help in selecting the best type of pex plumbing system for installing a new radiant floor heat system.  I notice there are copper rings, stainless cinch clamps, & an expansion system.  Any input as to advantages or disadvantages of each system?  Is one system more reliable than another?  Thanks

I'm also looking for information on this.  Actually I'm trying to find a name of particular product.  I saw it on a video on This Old House but they failed to mention the name.  Here is a link to video if anyone knows the name of this product please let me know.

Although I'm a complete novice at plumbing, this device is the best I've seen.  It uses compression instead of crimping and that go/no go device.  Also this device put a treaded end on copper end on the pex tubing.

It's looks a little akward because of its size, but looks like it gets the job done very well.

my 2 cents,

I watched the video, and this is a system I haven't seen before.  They don't mention the manufacturer, though by the name of the installer they must be from Switzerland or Germany.

It basically helps you flare the PEX over a brass fitting, which is sealed by a threaded compression nut.  It does look impressive, but also expensive!

By the way, they only showed a connection being made to the manifold.  Other connections in that system could be done with less expensive fitting systems, like the copper crimp ring or SSC crimp rings.

Both work very well and have been around since PEX began.
